We are offering after-school dance and movement classes again in the Summer term with our dance teacher, Miss Heather Main. Next term’s classes will run for 8 weeks from week commencing 25 April 2010 until week commencing 20 June 2010. There will be no sessions week commencing 23 May 2010.

Movement Play
Movement Play is an approach that encourages children to play spontaneously through movement. This approach, firstly, provides opportunities for children to learn in their bodies, in direct participation with sensation, feeling, movement and image. Secondly, this approach provides opportunities for an immature system to mature through particular movement activities, interweaving with all the different kinds of moving and playing children do naturally, which have a specific developmental function. These sessions also aim to develop social skills like taking turns, sharing and communication. We will be using lots of brightly coloured sensory enriched props and can guarantee heaps of fun!
