I want to apply for a Primary place for the next academic year commencing next September. When will I find out if I have been successful?

With the exception of future Foundation1 years, all places in years (where we are currently full in the preceding year) are offered in the term prior to the one you have applied for. Current parents are requested to give a terms notice, so places commencing September should be offered in the previous May/June.

If my child is on your waiting list for a future Foundation 1 place, when will I find out if he/she has got a place?

We allocate future Foundation 1 places in the October of the year prior to the one you have applied for as we feel that it is essential that parents have sufficient time to plan their child’s education.

i.e. Foundation 1 places for September 2010 will be allocated in October 2009 and all applications will need to be received by the 15 September 2009.

GENERAL

What are your class sizes?

Classes are a maximum of 22 children in all year groups and across all schools.

How many children are in each year group?

At Jumeirah there are 4 classes per year group, hence a maximum of 88 children. At Arabian Ranches Primary there are 3 classes per year group, hence 66 in total and in each Secondary year we have 6 classes per year, hence 132 in total.  There is no increase in places year on year.

How many students, on average, do you expect to leave annually?

At this time we have approximately 5 to 6 children leaving Jumeirah and about 4 to 5 children leaving Arabian Ranches each year, with the majority of these leaving during the summer.

My children are currently studying in Secondary in another country and are not following the British curriculum. If you have a place available can they move to JESS? 

At JESS we strictly follow the guidelines set by the KHDA so if your request for a place complies with these guidelines, we are able to meet the individual needs of your child and you have the appropriate documentation then we may be in a position to offer your child a place.

Are you intending to build another branch of JESS?

There are currently no plans to build another school.
