Our waiting lists across many year groups are extensive and, as such we have decided to close waiting lists for certain year groups to personal-debentured applicants. For an explanation of debentures, please see About Debentures. The current status of the waiting lists at both schools is shown in the tables below. All year groups remain open for applicants who have access to a corporate debenture (or for sibling applications to Foundation 1 and Year 7). Please understand, however that in the majority of year groups, there is still a waiting list and due to minimal turnover, progress through these waiting lists can be extremely slow.

If the waiting list is open (or you are eligible to apply to a closed waiting list), but there are currently no places available, your child will be placed on the waiting list for the branch of JESS to which you have applied. Children are placed on the waiting list according to the date of application, current schooling and debenture status.

There are no passport priorities given and applications are prioritised as follows:-

First Priority: Younger siblings of existing JESS children. (Foundation 1 only)
or 6 JESS Students (Year 7 only)

Second Priority: Corporate Debentured

Third Priority: Personal Debentured (personal debenture payment required)

If the intended year group is full, it is important to note that any available places will then be dependent on the number of children leaving JESS within that year group. Should a place become available parents will be contacted immediately and it is impossible to predict how quickly or when this will happen. The process of offering places is ongoing throughout the year as and when pupils leave and free up places.

Parents who apply for places more than a term in advance will also be placed on a waiting list as places are only offered in the term prior to the one applied for and are limited to availability. The exception is Foundation One, where places are allocated in the previous October. Once again, it is important to note that any available places for future years will be dependent on the number of children not progressing into the following academic year. Again, parents will be contacted immediately should a place become available.

If your child is placed on a waiting list it is important that you keep us informed of any changes to your circumstances, especially contact details. If at any time you wish to be removed from the waiting list, or your circumstances change regarding the school requirements of your child, please advise the Parent Relations team immediately.
