We believe and accept that self-respect and respect for others are mutually inclusive concepts. This respect takes into consideration not only others’ personal feelings but also regards for their property, security and well-being.

The following is our outline code of conduct, which is printed in the Student Planner.

Students are expected to
  • Assume a polite and courteous manner showing respect towards their fellow students, staff and others
  • Respect the privacy of their fellow students and staff
  • Show respect for their own property and that of others
  • Avoid engaging in and/or encouraging others in bullying, racism, and bad language
  • Always use please and thank you
  • Keep all areas of the school clean of litter and graffiti
  • Be punctual for all lessons, meetings and activities
  • Take pride in their work
  • Be organised and bring the correct equipment to lessons
  • Always move around the school in a calm and quiet manner
  • Consume food and drink in the designated areas
  • Care for each other without intimidation or harassment
  • Adhere to the school dress code

Students should also remember that 
  • MP3 players and similar items are not allowed on the campus
  • Mobile phones are permitted as long as etiquette is adhered to. They should read Mobile Phone Etiquette to ensure that they are aware of the policy.
  • Chewing gum, smoking and stimulants are prohibited on the school campus
  • They are not permitted to leave the campus during the school day without the appropriate permission having been obtained
  • If items of value are brought into the school they must be handed into the Reception for safe-keeping

Students who breach our Code of Conduct will be dealt with in an appropriate manner. Importantly, students who bring in implements capable of inflicting harm or the threat of harm will be excluded from the School. Furthermore, bad language directed towards a member of staff or persistently directed towards other students will result in the student being suspended.

General Organisation during the School Day (as per Student Planner)

At the beginning of the school day students should 
  • Visit their lockers
  • Organise their books ready for the first lessons of the day
  • Attend registration promptly when the bell rings

At break time students should 
  • Return to their lockers, leave their books and collect lunch boxes
  • Eat in the designated areas around the school – canteen, classroom or outside
  • Return to their lockers just before the end of break to return lunch boxes and organise their books for the next lessons

At the end of the school day students should 
  • Collect any books required from their lockers for homework
  • Leave the tutor bases tidy and in an orderly manner

Areas around the school at break and lunch times
During the first 5 minutes of break and lunch times students are allowed to collect what they require from their lockers in their tutor bases.
After this time they should not be in the tutor rooms.
Eating is NOT ALLOWED in the tutor rooms.

Teaching Blocks
Students should not be on the upper corridor at break or lunch time once they have visited their lockers.
Students should not play on the stairs during the break time.

Auditorium
This is out of bounds during break times.

Sports Hall
Students are not permitted to eat in the

  • Viewing galleries
  • Entrance to the Sports Hall

Students are not permitted to go beyond the Sports Hall or Auditorium into the Primary School unless they have permission from a member of staff.

School Field
Students are only allowed on the school field if supervised by a teacher and at designated times. Students must wear training shoes if using the field. These must be changed before returning to lessons for the afternoon session. Students may only drink water on the school field.
