Year 10 Bronze International Award

The Bronze International Award co-ordinator for the 2011/12 year is Mrs Ros Snowden.

The International Award was launched this year on the 13th September. Please find attached in the downloads section below the presentation which was shown. This will give you information about the International Award, also how we run the Bronze Award here at JESS and finally the expedition details.


There are two practice expeditions as follows:

• 13 & 14 October 2011 - For classes 10JD, 10LL, 10ZG
• 20 & 21 October 2011 – For classes 10ER, 10GEB, 10EG

And two final expeditions as follows:


• 2 & 3 November 2011 - For classes 10JD, 10LL, 10ZG
• 10 & 11 December 2011- For classes 10ER, 10GEB, 10EG

Year 11 Silver International Award
The Silver International Award co-ordinator for the 2011/12 year is Miss Maria Alonso.

The Silver International Award 2011/12 was launched on Monday 20th June to Year 10 students- if you missed this launch please click below to view the presentation about the details of the award.

There are 2 Silver expeditions as follows:

Group 1: Wednesday 26 - Friday 28 October 2011 For classes 11BG, 11RS and PE Students

Group 2: Wednesday 23 - Friday 25 November 2011 For classes 11AS, 11FH, 11JR and 11SC.

Year 12 Gold International Award
The Gold co-ordinator for the 2011/12 year is Miss Jennie Burke.

In order to offer the best possible opportunity for our students, we are offering two qualifying Gold expeditions this year, one is locally based and the other is an extended overseas trip that offers the expedition as part of the trip.

Parents should indicate on the reply slip in the sign-up letter below which expedition they would like their son/daughter to take part in, and return this to Secondary Reception by Wednesday 12 October 2011, along with the cheque necessary for the expedition selected. Full details of the trips, cost etc. can be found in this letter.
(Please note that the cost of the Vietnam trip includes visa, travel, meals & insurance)
