JESS student bowls with Pakistan cricket team
Sunday, November 13, 2011
Harry Stow, a year 11 student was fortunate to attend the Pakistan Cricket team training session on 13 November. He bowled at some of the top cricket players in the world. Here's what Harry thought about his experience.
I was lucky enough to have been selected to train for two hours with the Pakistan cricket team on Sunday the 13th of November at the D.C.S. (Dubai Cricket Stadium). The Pakistan team is currently playing Sri Lanka in the ODI series in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, so I caught them just before the second ODI.
Bowling against some of the great names in Pakistan cricket this is something I could have only dreamed of doing a couple of years ago. One of the great highlights of my night was getting Umer Gul out twice in my first spell; a tremendous achievement in my cricket career so far. Another great honour was meeting some of the stars in the Pakistan cricket team like Misbah-ul-Haq, Umer Gul and Shaid Afridi. I actually met the whole team who welcomed me at the stadium and helped me overcome my nerves.
