At JESS, we are looking at ways to motivate and encourage our students to develop their reading skills, to facilitate their progress in all areas of the curriculum. We have decided to trial a programme called Accelerated Reader (AR™). The guide attached below is designed to answer your questions about AR. As part of this, we would ask you to encourage your child to read for 20 minutes each day, and to be aware of what they are reading. They will also have the opportunity to read during school time, but we need your support at home to make this initiative a success!
