Islamic Education is an integral part of your child’s learning and in accordance with guidance and requirements provided by the Ministry of Education every Secondary Muslim student at JESS receives two Islamic lessons which amount to eighty minutes every week.
The location for Islamic Education classes is now the new building next to Key Stage one playground. The early morning sessions start at 7.50 for Secondary pupils; please ensure that children are on time so they can have the best possible start to the day.
This year, we’ll also be introducing “My Journey in Islam” booklets that have been personalized for our children. These will not only serve as a link between home and school but will hopefully highlight children’s understanding of the different aspects of being a Muslim. More specific details will follow in the coming weeks Inshallah.
Each term different year groups focus on the recitation of a particular Surat. During lessons students are encouraged to ponder and reflect on the meaning of specific verses from the Quran whilst the memorisation and recitation of these Surats is reinforced through homework. It is therefore vital that children are supported at home.
