Students at JESS follow the AQA A Syllabus for English Literature and the AQA A syllabus for English. Students are placed into broad bands based upon Key Stage 3 achievement. It may be that some students decide to focus upon the English GCSE, but it is hoped that the majority of students complete their GCSE course gaining both qualifications.
