Music is taught to all students from Year 7 to Year 9. Each student receives one 55 minute music lesson per week. Students are involved in a wide variety of individual, small group and whole class activities throughout the three years. The emphasis is on practical music making, involving a considerable amount of performing and composing. Several units of work during the three years involve music technology, using software such as ‘GarageBand’, ‘Logic’ and ‘Sibelius’. Homework is not set on a regular basis, but as required, to extend and support the work done in the classroom.
