Students who choose to study Psychology at GCSE follow the Edexcel 2PS01 specification. This course aims to provide students with an understanding of themselves and others and how people function in society. It also seeks to encourage students to be critical and reflective thinkers with enquiring minds.

Students do not need to have any prior knowledge of the subject and classes are grouped according to the block in which students select to study Psychology.

Students write an examination at the end of Year 10 which comprises 40% of the overall GCSE grade and an examination at the end of Year 11 which comprises the remaining 60%. There is no coursework component in Psychology.
