Corporate Debentures
As the school is a non-profit making organisation, all children are required to have their place at JESS supported by a debenture. There are two types of debentures available: Corporate and Personal.
WHAT IS A CORPORATE DEBENTURE?
Corporate Debentures were sold to companies who chose to support JESS on a long-term basis by investing in the initial building of the schools. In return for this commitment, we offer their eligible employees priority on our waiting lists and the option to apply to JESS even if the waiting list is closed. Corporate Debentures are no longer available for purchase.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY COMPANY HOLDS A CORPORATE DEBENTURE WITH JESS?
When applying to JESS the onus is on the parent to confirm Corporate Debenture eligibility with their company HR department. Debenture companies set their own eligibility criteria within their organisation and it is solely their decision to nominate employees who can use their debentures. JESS will reconfirm the eligibility and availability with the company HR department at the time an assessment is offered. If the parent is no longer eligible to use a Corporate Debenture the application will be placed on the personal waiting list as per the date of application.
BEFORE YOU APPLY
Please note that we are full, and our waiting lists are over-subscribed in most year groups. That means that even though we are accepting applications from Corporate Debenture Holders, these are merely applications to join our waiting lists.
The main entry points into JESS Dubai are FS1 and Year 7. Aside from those year groups, occasional seats become available in other year groups only if a current student leaves, in which case we will offer that place to the next student on our waiting list. This means that if you are applying for more than one child, and they are not applying for FS1 or Year 7, they are unlikely to be offered a place at the same time, since occasional places are only ever available based on another student leaving.
We are unable to advise on how long it will take to move up the waiting list/be offered a place since this information is dependent on students leaving JESS.
Owing to the overwhelming amount of applications we receive, if you apply as a Corporate Debenture Holder, but your company does not have a Corporate Debenture with us, we will not be able to respond to your application, nor will we be able to add your child to our waiting list.
To find out more about our waiting lists, please refer to our Admissions Policy.
