  • JESS swimmer through to World Junior Championships

    Last week Lewis Burras from Year 12 was competing at the British Swimming Championships in Sheffield (UK) against Adam Peaty and all the other Olympic medallists who went to Rio. In the 50 metre freestyle Lewis qualified in 8th place for the freestyle senior final and finished in 4th place, only missing the senior medal by just 0.1 seconds. As a result, he has been selected to compete for Great Britain in the World Junior Championships in Indianapolis in the summer.

The latest opportunity came at one of the most prestigious educational events in the region: BETT Middle East, Abu Dhabi. Eight JESS Year 7 students, along with Mrs Coffey and Ms Denyer, were invited to share their expertise with the Surface and OneNote alongside members of the JESS Secondary staff and the Microsoft Gulf team themselves
