Key Stage 2 (Years 3 - 6) Creativity, Action & Service
Children at JESS have the opportunity to take part in a range of extra-curricular activities. Many of these take place straight after school, but some occur later in the day. There are clubs for all kinds of sports, from water-polo to hockey, as well as numerous music and performing arts opportunities. Whilst many clubs take place at school some occur off site such as skiing, horse riding and rock climbing. Pupils develop new skills, gain self-confidence and involve themselves in lots of new experiences.
Each child is allowed to choose 2 activities for Terms 1 and 2 and 1 activity for Term 3. We will endeavour to allocate children 2 of their preferred activities in Terms 1 and 2; however, please be aware that this is not always possible due to restrictions in numbers for some of the activities and a third alternative club should also be chosen. Children who are involved in a ‘selected’ club are also permitted to select 2 'ordinary' activities in Terms 1 and 2 and 1 ‘ordinary’ activity in Term 3.
On-site activities commence at 2.30 p.m. and finish at 3.30 p.m. (unless otherwise stated) and children should be collected from the activity location. Parents are responsible for transporting children to activities that are outside the school. Most on-site activities are free-of-charge. Only clubs that involve an outside company incur a fee and these are clearly indicated in the tables below*.
(*Autumn Term Sept-Dec 2010 clubs will be published at the start of the term).
