Orchestra
The JESS Jumeirah orchestra enjoys rehearsing together every week. It consists of children from year two to six who have been learning an instrument for more than one term.
Choir
JESS Jumeirah has an established tradition of singing. Children in years 3-6 meet every week and enjoy singing a wide variety of songs. During December JESS Jumeirah children are invited to perform at a festive event at the British Embassy.
Samba Group
For those children who enjoy rhythm this is a great opportunity to “FEEL THE BEAT” every week! This group of 24 musicians play authentic Latin American percussion instruments and make a fantastic sound!
Steel Pan Group
Children who enjoy making “MELLOW SOUNDS” meet every week to play our beautiful new steel pans which have been imported from America.
Guitar Orchestra
Mr Spasov and Mr Doynov from the Centre for Musical Arts rehearse with our ever growing number of budding guitarists.
Recorder group
Children who wish to have an extra opportunity to practise their recorder meet every week and have fun progressing through the recorder course.
Performances
JESS Jumeirah has a rich tradition of fabulous shows. In the past few years productions have included “Fiends Reunited,” “Pharoahland”, “Ocean World,” and “School Daze.”
Every year we hold a number of Music Soirees which provide children with the opportunity to perform in groups and individually.
During February we hold a week of “Proms in the Playground.” Children entertain each other at playtime with musical performances.
