Rugby at Repton

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

The rugby teams of JESS Jumeirah have been training hard this term to improve the game play and individual skills. The recent visit to Repton on Tuesday 12th March included five teams, Years 4-6 A teams and two U11 girls TAG rugby teams.

The U11 girls experienced their first game of the season in preparation for next weeks tournament at JESS Jumeirah. The A team lost 3-2 and the B team won 6-4. Repton proved too strong and quick to ruck in the Year 5 game that finished 35-5 to Repton. However, the team have made fantastic progress from the beginning of the season and we look forward to the challenge of the DC rugby tournaments next year. The Year 4 team also played well but were slow to start finishing the first half 25-0 down. However, after a positive team talk at half time from Mr Rees the boys came back strong and won the second half 15-10. The Year 6 boys overpowered the Repton opposition to win 45-5, secure their undefeated season and become the league champions!
