When our Year 13 students reach the end of their time at JESS, we wish them every success as they move on to the next phase of their lives. We hope that we have prepared our students for the variety of challenges life will offer and wish them good luck and happiness in all that they do.

The following points cover all the practices and procedures that will come into effect for Year 13 students in the last few weeks of their school life. Please note that all specific dates for study leave, results etc can also be found on the Events Calendar. For all dates of examinations and results and the post-results procedures for communication with universities, please refer to the Examinations Page  )

Lockers
All lockers should be cleared out by the time that students go on study leave.

Text books / library books outstanding
Students should take in any text books to be returned to JESS on the last examination date for that subject. The books will be collected by staff members at the entrance of the examination. Students should ensure that they return the book to a staff member who will take note of who has returned the books. Any library books that are outstanding can also be returned to the staff members collecting in the books at any session.

Donations of books purchased by students
If students have purchased any books for the IB and wish to donate these to JESS, they will be gladly welcomed by our Learning Resource Centre! To ensure that this is recognised, if any student wishes to donate a book, they should take it directly to the LRC where they will be given a sticker to put in the book so they can personalise it, and give any future students borrowing the book an encouraging word or two!

Entering/Leaving JESS Premises during examination/study leave
Students should ensure that they return their ID cards to the Security Gate upon leaving the school at the end of the last day before study leave commences. These cards will remain at the Security Gate, and when students visit the school premises either during the study period, or for an examination, they must ensure that they collect their ID Card upon entering the school, and return it to the Security Gate upon leaving the school.

NEW! JESS Alumni
As our first Sixth-Formers leave the school, we would like to encourage them to sign up for the new JESS Alumnni association that we have introduced. Please see JESS Alumni for more details and to sign up online.

Official Documents Required
At the end of year 13 successful students will receive either the IB Diploma or IB Certificates, which are prestigious international pre-university qualifications recognised by universities and governments throughout the world. It is unlikely that students will need additional attested or official documents from JESS for admission to further educational establishments or for employment purposes but this will depend on the university / college or employment that they are applying for. If additional documents are required, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Caroline Lumley at clumley@jess.sch.ae

Debenture Refunds
Action regarding your debenture differs depending on whether your son/daughter's place is secured by a corporate or a personal debenture. Please see Debenture Refunds for further information.
