Two new IB courses announced for September 2012 - Dance and Sport. Click here for more information.
Thursday, February 02, 2012
We are delighted to announce that, from September 2012 we will be offering two new subjects at IB level: Sport Exercise & Health Science and Dance.
We are doing our very best to provide as broad, balanced and accessible a range of options as possible at IB for our students. The Dance course has a practical focus and there is no written exam component. Assessment involves a range of performances, the creation of original compositions in a variety of styles and a written investigation. It also gives the opportunity for students from other IB arts courses to create experimental work. It could provide a strong foundation for further study at undergraduate level for students hoping to pursue careers as choreographers, performers, dancers, teachers or therapists. Alternatively, it may be a course to undertake for enjoyment and to complement their other studies in the IB Diploma. We have a number of talented dancers and athletes and we hope they will give these courses some serious thought. We will need a certain number to allow them to run but we are hopeful that we will be able to exploit this opportunity.
We will also be offering the IB Courses Programme (in addition to the IB Diploma) from September 2012. For further detail on IB Courses click here
