The Making a Difference Award has been designed to allow JESS students to develop 21st century life skills and develop their passions outside of the classroom.
In both Primary and Secondary the MaD Award is broken down into strands; Adventure, Enterprise, Languages, Independence, Performance, Recreation, Service and Technology. Students are set various tasks within these strands to develop key skills which become more challenging as they progress from Foundation through to Key Stage 3. Students, teachers and parents can track progress using “digital scrapbooks” on SeeSaw in Primary and Microsoft 365 OneNote in Secondary. Students are periodically rewarded as strands are completed as part of the Award to encourage participation, perseverance and excellence.
As part of the MaD award we have developed exciting educational trips and continually look for opportunities for students to take part in, for example, the Dubai Fitness Challenge or Service experiences such as the Philanthropic Schools Award that is organised by the KHDA.
