JESS welcomes a diverse population, who will make a contribution to the life of the School and will benefit from the opportunities offered.

All children applying to Jumeirah English Speaking School:

  • Should be fluent in English at an age-appropriate level so that s/he can access the curriculum.
  • If English is not the applicant’s first language; or that the applicant is multi- or bi-lingual, please refer to our English as an Additional Language Policy
  • The School welcomes students of determination and ensures that students are not refused admission based only on their experience of SEND.  Our specialist Inclusion team ensures each child fulfills their true potential. For further information, please see our Admissions Policy and our Inclusion Policy.
  • The School follows the UK National Curriculum year group structure with the school year commencing in September and ending in July. Progression between year groups happens in September.  The entry cut off for year groups is 1st September as per UK National Curriculum standard practice.  JESS strictly follows the KHDA regulations regarding admission of children. Parents are advised that this can present some difficulties for children entering the English National Curriculum from a different system.
