A JESS secondary education builds on the love of learning instilled at primary and provides the opportunity for students to flourish in a caring environment that challenges them to seize opportunities, make the most of their potential and be ready to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.
Our secondary school is based at Arabian Ranches where students follow the National Curriculum for England which is enhanced with a broad range of extracurricular activities, student leadership opportunities, sports, music and performing arts programmes.
Secondary can be challenging for students and our pastoral care is on hand to help them navigate any hurdles along their journey. Our student support and counselling team, known as Oasis, is available to respond to the individual needs of students, offering support as well as an extension for those who require additional assistance.
Secondary is split into two Key Stages:
KEY STAGE THREE (YEARS 7-9)
These are the first years of a JESS Secondary education where students have multiple teachers and are taught a broad range of subjects and an independent learning style is encouraged. Our dedicated Transition team will ensure students are eased into their Secondary journey with various activities and events from taster days to buddy programmes.
At the end of Year 9, students will choose what subjects they wish to study in Key Stage 4 (years 10 to 11) These decisions are based on our GCSE Option Choices Booklet:
KEY STAGE FOUR (YEARS 10-11)
This is a two-year study programme that leads to GCSE exams at the end of Year 11, before students move onto JESS Sixth Form.
